I started SkinSense because I have suffered from problematic skin my entire
life. I tried so many products that would either work for a little while and then
stop working or fail to work all together. Finally I decided to try making
something for myself. Having worked in the natural products industry for
several years I was very familiar with the conventional uses of many essential
oils and plant based ingredients. I then began researching lesser known
botanicals in search of ingredients that I felt would benefit my skin.
In my research I began to find that many companies are adding ingredients
to their products purely for marketability and not for any specific benefit to
the skin. Synthetic ingredients are used to enhance the color, smell, texture,
and shelf life of a product. In many cases these ingredients are not only
unnecessary but can actually be harmful and have detrimental effects on the
skin.
What came about from this research is SkinSense, a line of common sense
skin care with lots of powerful plant-based ingredients and none of the
synthetic preservatives, fillers, fragrances and dyes that are unnecessary
and tend to dry, irritate, and confuse the skin. I have been using SkinSense
